Over the course of this past year, I've had the honor of being selected for the Hasbro Workshop here at my school. This year's challenge was to take one of the existing G.I Joe characters and recreate them in a new setting.
My own setting was one where The G.I Joe's lost to Cobra, and found themselves divided and conquered. Doc, in this setting, still wears his old Commander's jacket, though he's adorned it with the "tags" of those he's lost in his time as a wandering doctor. In this setting, soldier's "dog tags" are strips of paper that are held within a small cannister every soldier has on their person. He uses it both as a ghillie suit, as well as a grim reminder to do his job.
we also had to design an animal companion for our GI Joe Soldier. I made Duke, named after the GI Joe character of the same name, who is simply a Doberman Pinscher that accompanies Doc, allowing him to sniff out Cobra soldier patrols and help him move from settlement to settlement unmolested.
